You can make the content of a field searchable so that the next time you perform a query, its content is searched and matching results are returned.

The includeForFreeTextSearch attribute can only be used with string fields (Single-Line Text, Multi-Line Text, etc.).

  1. Edit the Coveo.SearchProvider.Custom.config file.
  2. Under the fieldMap/fieldNames element, add a new element like this (you must replace mysitecorefield with the actual name of the Sitecore field):

If you are unable to find this element, you might need to copy it from the Coveo.SearchProvider.config file. However, note that you are discouraged from modifying this file, as it may cause issues during upgrades.

  3. To officially make the field free-text searchable in your search indexes, rebuild your search indexes.
